Hi mga ka-blog!
Actually wala kasi akong maisip na isulat as of now kaya naisip ko to get a little different today. I was thinking to share my mother's secret recipe in cooking Tinola, this recipe was actually very common with all filipinos kaya lang memorable kasi sakin because before she died she texted me one by one the steps of how to make her own style of Tinola and this is what I'm talking...
So here it goes.
Ingredients:
Oil (Mantika)
Garlic (Bawang)
Onion (Sibuyas)
Ginger (Luya)
Chicken - Breast part chop into medium sizes (Manok)
Papaya or Sayote (Vegetable Pear)
Fish Sauce (Patis) or Salt (Asin)
Chili Leaves (Dahon ng Sili)
Water (Tubig)
Options: Knorr Chicken Cubes
How to do it?
- Prepare the onions, garlic and ginger. Chop it according to you desired sizes/slices.
- Saute onions, garlic and ginger together with the chicken.
- Add one tablespoon of fish sauce or salt. (Just enough for your taste)
- Just let is simmer for a while and add at least 1 1/2 cup of water and add your papaya/sayote.
- Keep it for about 10 minutes while until it boils.
- Add the cubes and the chili leaves and let it for about 5 more minutes.
- Taste it. If necessary, add more water and salt/fish sauce as it will level to your taste of a true Tinola.
